Q&A: What shape of eyeglass frame should I pick?

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Question by WI_soccer: What shape of eyeglass frame should I pick?
I have an oval face, and I need to get glasses. What shape of frame should I choose? Also, I have light olive skin. What color should the frames be? I am female.

The oval face is considered to be the ideal shape because of its balanced proportions. To keep the oval’s natural balance, look for eyeglass frames that are as wide as (or wider than) the broadest part of the face, or walnut-shaped frames that are not too deep or too narrow.
I bet darker frames would look probably look better with your skin or tortoise frames.
Hope I helped a little:]

Yes in almost every case, the only restriction could be with the thickness of the lense.

How to repair stripped threads in eyeglass frame?

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Question by m22tanker: How to repair stripped threads in eyeglass frame?
The threads for one of the screws for the lens frame on my eyeglasses is stripped. I was considering using a larger size tap, but I have no idea where I can purchase a tap this small. Can someone advise where I can purchase a SMALL tap or another way to repair the threads?
Footprintz, how much would the fee be to install a self tapping screw?

you can buy an eyeglass kit at wal mart. It comes with screws, a screwdiriver and nose pads. They cost about $ 5. Here’s a picture of what they look like.

which eye glass frame looks best on me? I would like to get a second pair.?

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Question by Private: which eye glass frame looks best on me? I would like to get a second pair.?
I already own a pair of dark rectangular black frames. I tried the salt frames and the optician says I look sharp in them. I haven’t tried the ogas. The last oga with the thick plastic temples would hide some thickness like black rectangular one but the other semi-rimless frames could look weird on me because I have a high minus prescription.

holy moly, you people have some expensive tastes…the third oga is like 500 bucks minimum…i am thinking maybe I should try the salt…it has that retro look and gives me that johnny depp look…plus it’s lined with white crystal plastic which will help blend in my thick lens…..do you think the greyish black version of the salt frame would look good on me?

Can men wear leopard frame sunglasses?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Question by rafaim: Can men wear leopard frame sunglasses?
Hi,
I received a pair of sunglasses as a present and am not sure if they can be worn by men(straight).
The sunglasses in question are the Serengeti Savona 7066 Brown Tan leopard Fade.

It does state Unisex on some sites but I’m not sure if the leopard frame is.
Thanks
