I used this company once, and I'm afraid I cant recommend them.
Unfortunately the glasses looked nothing like the picture on the website and had to endure a very lengthy and complicated returns process.

Eventually I received a phone call telling me I had not returned a polythene bag with the glasses even though I had sent everything I received.

London Eyewear then credited my card back a few weeks later minus £7.95 - for the missing bag and postage - without telling me they were making a deduction.

Next time I will use a well known company that realises returns are part of day to day business.

A drop of water has a different refractive index than glass, so the light passing through that drop would be refracted differently. Hard to get enough water on spectacles to change the refraction much. Wear your glasses next time you go in a pool, and check for yourself. Check : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refractive_index

The answer depends on a few variables, but assuming your eyeglasses sit around 12mm from your eyes, it should be
-9.00, if it's 14mm, it should be -8.75. See this for more information: http://www.rgpli.org/education/conversioncharts.htm

Bear in mind that contact lenses only come in quarter steps, and sometimes only in half steps at the higher prescriptions.

If you are asking this in order to obtain lenses, you'll need much more information, size (base curve), diameter, etc. Ask your doctor for a copy of your prescription to be sure you're getting the correct fit.

there really isn't an exact ration because a lot depends on the individual, type of contacts, how far the glasses are from the face, age etc.

Anything goes, just be aware that you can get away with doing your eye makeup a little heavier when wearing glasses, since the makeup won't show up as much through the frames.

ALSO, be sure not to neglect using concealer (that is one shade lighter than your skin) under your eyes. The shadows cast by glasses can make dark circles (which 9 out of 10 people have) appear even worse.

Michelle Phan did a great tutorial on cute makeup for glasses. I really LOVE the unique double lines she did. It looks especially cool with the glasses. Check it out!

I had to wear makeup with glasses for three years, so I see where you're coming from. (: I think it glasses look really nice with a shimmery eyeshadow. I recommend going for a shade that's a little darker than your skin tone. A dark-ish shimmery eyeshadow will make your eyes look brighter and whiter. It also look super pretty with a really volumizing mascara. I hope I helped! :)
